Boa

(boa)

In Syan there are no gendered words for mother or father, instead there is the singular term for parent. This is most commonly used by children when talking to their parents directly, similar to the english "Mom" and "Dad".

Once a person turns 20 it is traditionally expected of them to refer to their father as "A-do ..." and their mother as "A-li ...". However in the modern day this practice is becoming less common.
